On Sunday 3rd July Colne Valley hosted our annual Junior Open which is part of the Essex Golf Union’s Junior Community Tour. 42 Juniors took part with the competition split into 3 categories. Under 14 Boys, under 18 boys and a Girls. The girls winner Abigail March won on countback with 36 points from Ivy Neary & Daisy Littlebury. The under 14 boys was won by Clacton’s Johnny Down, Johnny scored a brillaint 42 points. Runner up was Tyler Coney and third was taken by Zak Sandle. The under 18 prizes went to Callum Moore from Lexdon Wood, Milo Locke & Joseph Sidwell. The nearest the pin prizes were won by Callum Moore and Joseph Gibbon. Our thanks go to County representative Bill Dunbar and Colne Valley President Cynthia Hollingsworth who gave up their whole day from starting the juniors off to ball spotting and making sure the cards were marked properly!
