Golf lessons for primary and secondary schools
Children are recommended to have at least an hour of physical activity every day, with 30 minutes of that taking place in school. If you don’t already include golf as part of your PE curriculum, it could be an exciting new way to get children active as a PE and Sport Premium eligible activity.
At Coastal Golf Academy, we know that golf is a fully-accessible sport, all children can take part, no matter their age, previous experience or physical ability. Everyone can be challenged and can improve, whilst having fun and keeping fit.
Golf isn’t just a way to work the muscles, it develops many wider skills in children including:
Tailored coaching for your school
Coastal Golf Academy
We’ve been providing golf coaching for local schools for over 10 years. Our fully DBS-checked, PGA-qualified coaches work with children from 6-18 teaching everything from the very basic skills and game theory to advanced elite technique.
We tailor our sessions to each school’s individual needs including the following options:
In-school PE lessons, both indoor and outdoor training skills and gameplay
Golf course-based lessons– including transport to and from school if needed
Afterschool clubs – both at school and at local golf clubs – including transport if needed
For all sessions, we supply all of the equipment that the children will need to take part in the activities, including clubs, ball and skills equipment.
Secondary schools may also be interested in our apprenticeship scheme run in association with the Sigma Sixth Golf Academy.

Our Afterschool Clubs & Booking
Coastal Golf Academy
During 2023, CGA are working with a number of local primary schools to offer afterschool clubs at Colne Valley and Frinton Golf Clubs.
Transport will be provided from your child’s school and taken to their local club to enjoy an hours golf. The sessions are fun, fast and give them the chance to start learning the basics needed to play on the course and to help golf become an enjoyable hobby.
“My son joined the academy with no handicap and managed to achieve a handicap within 18 months through the teaching of the academy, plenty of fun along the way, supervision is excellent and within a safe environment. It’s enabled him to play in outside comps, with a few wins along the way, which made it even more fun! I wouldn’t send him anywhere else. Highly recommended!”
“Learning to play golf with the Academy, and in particular Scott, has been very rewarding. Scott has the ability to fine-tune what you need to learn at each step. This means that you are not overwhelmed and you’re always making progress. I have found Scott to be both positive and encouraging.”
“I could never imagine that when I came along to your Get into Golf taster sessions that two years later, I am playing golf, have made new life-long friendships and attended amazing golfing holidays. Achieved, Tom and Joe, through your constant encouragement and patience, whether in group or individual lessons you gave me the confidence and belief that I could learn to play golf to a level I can enjoy.”
“The coaching I receive from Coastal Golf Academy is always tailored to my individual needs and it has helped me to develop a real enjoyment of the game. My thanks to Scott and Steve.”
“When I joined the group class, I never thought I would love it but I was so wrong; it was a fantastic way to start golf, the academy is so supportive in building your confidence. I love all the new friends I have made and l love the game, even though I’ve still got a long way to go.”
“I love it, I’ve learnt so much since I’ve been a member of Coastal Golf Academy, friendly atmosphere and everybody gets along as a group!”
