Be a part of Charlie’s Journey

Charlie Rusbridge, son of CGA co-founder Scott Rusbridge has had a phenomenal summer of golf. Since lockdown he has dedicated himself to golf with the dream and aspirations to one day compete with the best in the world. Charlie is 14 years old and now plays off a handicap of +1.7.
This summer he has exceeded his expectations and goals set at the start of the year. Some of his summer highlights have included winning the Essex under 14 championship, winning his first Essex scratch men’s title at Wanstead Golf Club, representing Essex at under 14, 16 and 18 level. He has also recently been successful in being selected for the East Region England Regional Under 18 Squad.

With him planning to play 12 national level tournaments in 2023 detailed below, he is looking for businesses to become part of his journey. With the tournaments being between 2 and 5 days in duration all over the UK the costs to play are substantial. He is looking to attract businesses to support those costs to help him fulfill the potential he has shown to date. The estimated cost of entries, accommodation and other costs associated for the tournaments listed below is £6000.00.

  • England Golf – Midland Under 16 Championship
  • England Golf – South East Region Under 18 Junior Championship
  • English Under 18 Closed Championship
  • Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters
  • Douglas Johns Under 15 Trophy
  • England Golf – Midland Youth Championship

Those businesses that feel like they would like to become involved in supporting Charlie, would benefit from brand awareness through company logos on clothing worn, social media recognition, rounds of golf with Charlie at Colne Valley or Frinton Golf Clubs.

Summary of his 2022 performances

His biggest achievement came in Lincoln where he finished runner up in the England under 14 open strokeplay championship. The field included 50 leading European players from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland and France. He finished as the leading English player and is currently rank as the 2nd best English under 14 golfer.
With such a successful year, his original playing schedule for 2023 has changed with many more national tournaments now open to him. His short term goals are to continue working hard at building a game suitable for the highest amateur and eventually professional levels. Other important goals for 2023 include representing Essex as well as giving himself the best chance to be selected for England at Under 16 level. This will all be possible if he performs well at national level championships. His longer term amateur dream would be to play Walker Cup representing Great Britain and Ireland against The USA. This is the pinnacle of amateur golf. Below are a few of the highlights of his 2022 season.

2023 promises to be an exciting year for Charlie, any businesses that choose to support him would hopefully enjoy being part of his development and share in the successes he aims to have.
