YOUTH SHIELD SCRATCH FINAL

Colchester Golf Club were hosts of the 2025 Youth Shield Scratch Final where Romford golf club played Colne Valley Golf Club

Colne Valley team players were

Charlie Rusbridge, Freddie Rusbridge, Luke McCarthy, Ethan Richards & Toby Hankins

Matches 2 & 3 were the first to finish with both points going to Romford. Adam Murphy won 3&2 against Luke McCarthy and Oliver Brightman beat Freddie Rusbridge 4&3.

Match 1 between Charlie Rusbridge & Henry Linley was a superb battle, with both players a considerable number under par. This eventually came down to the last hole with both players just missing the green in two. Charlie chipped first to 5ft with Henry next to 15ft. Henry holed his putt so Charlie had a good chance to take the match to the 19th, however his putt slipped past. This concluded their match and the third point on the board for Romford which was enough to win the Youth Shield Scratch for the fourth consecutive year.
