Women & Girls’ Golf Week Report
Monday 29th July was the beginning of Women & Girls’ Golf Week.
This is an annual England Golf initiative to inspire women and girls to try golf, and support and encourage those who already play.
English Golf Clubs are sadly way behind our European counterparts in women’s club membership, and England Golf want to change that.
Coastal Golf Academy have always been big champions of women and girls in golf, so it is an initiative that is a pleasure to back.
Tuesday saw a fun playing event for our Colne Valley Golf Club and Frinton Golf Club Girls Golf on Par groups which was held at Frinton Golf Club.
The strong winds were no deterrent to these girls having fun!
Thursday Colne Valley Golf Club held a similar event, but for the women who have been taking our Get into Golf lessons. Using the new Women on Par format from England Golf, we had a great evening with just the right amount of healthy competition!
Friday at Frinton Golf Club and Saturday at Colne Valley Golf Club, Coastal Golf Academy held one of our regular Free Family Taster Sessions, both including Women & Girls activities.
We’ve really enjoyed the week, and had great feedback. We look forward to doing it again next year, bigger and even better!
