Strong Showing by the Colne Valley teams at the County Faldo Wedge team competition
The Faldo Wedge is a junior team format with the 3 individual scores from the juniors combining to give the team score. Colne Valley had 2 teams in the event with 38 other teams. Colne Valley ‘B’ team came a very credible 4th with Ralph Barker Smith scoring 36 points to continue his good form from last weeks junior open at Frinton. The other team members where Daisy eves (35pts) and Mason Barningham (32pts) giving a team score of 103. The winners of the event where Benton Hall with a score of 110.
Our ‘A’ team also did very well scoring 102 points to come 6th with team member Hannah Kane scoring 36 points, Mia Barningham 33 points and finally Dan Wallace also with 33 points. Dan has had a great week, winning the Thorpe Hall Junior Open on Wednesday with a good score of gross 6 over par.
Frinton also had 2 teams in the event, all those that played gained valuable experience playing in a large county event.
