Gerry Weatherley

Profile

The Colne Golf Academy has introduced Performance Coach Gerry Weatherley as part of their program of ongoing commitment to helping young golfers achieve consistent outstanding performance.

Understanding how to control the mental focus is essential in achieving outstanding results in golf. Gerry has a long involvement with this aspect of influence and personal excellence which was kindled as far back as the 1970's after speaking with Timothy Galleway author and originator of the Inner Game concept who identified the value of working with both the conscious and sub-conscious mind as a critical factor in attaining the all important relaxed state of non-critical self observation when needed when playing at the highest level. The methods used to work on this inner game draw on Gerry's additional experience of neuro-linguistic programming and the techniques of focused attention used by PGA players of the caliber of Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

Golf provides an unequalled opportunity learn to apply these techniques and members of the Academy will learn how to use them to improve their game and also, by working with Gerry, develop a deeper understanding of the ways that these same techniques can be adapted and used in the wider field of career development and life improvement.
