The main emphasis of social golf events is to encourage new and improving golfers to play on the course rather than just hitting balls at the range. The events are great fun, with only as much competiveness as you the golfer desires. Golf is followed by a light meal, sometimes in the form of a hog roast or barbecue with everyone enjoying socialising with other new golfers.
