Colne Golf Academy students recently enjoyed a week at the Vila Sol golf resort in Portugal to prepare for a busy season ahead.
It is the second year the academy have headed down to Portugal and it gives them invaluable experience at playing and practicing at a tour proven golf resort.
Vila Sol is soon to host the European Seniors Tour Qualifying school and the students got to meet USA PGA Champions Tour player Danny Edwards who was there preparing.
The season ahead proves to be an exciting one for many of them who will have a busy schedule playing in club and county events as well as academy team matches.
As well as a busy playing season, it is hoped that the students will get the opportunity to attend the PGA BMW championship at Wentworth as on course volunteers where they will get a chance to see the best players in the world in action.
Colne Golf Academy currently has 13 students on the 2 year programme run from the Colne Community College. Students combine a BTEC Academic qualification with the view to becoming elite players through the practical golf programme.
